SESSION THREE:  Posing the Model

Instructional Workshop

This will be the third in a series of monthly workshops
taught by Robert Elvin on studio techniques
with an emphasis on Glamour and Fine Art.

Robert is a long time commercial photographer who has taught
lighting at local universities and art schools for years.
In recent years he has been a lighting consultant to the motion picture
industry and recently directed a pilot for television.  Robert is the
technical consultant for "Photographer's Lighting" in San Francisco.

This will be a three hour event with a live model.  We are bringing in
Audrey Palace because she is one of the most creative posers we have!

Many photographers are great with a camera but have to rely
heavily on the ability of the model to pose.  It is always nice to
have a model who is a good poser.  The problem is that
when the model poses, it is she that is controlling the statement,

not the photographer.  The purpose of this event is to help you
take control to develop compelling poses to improve the images
you produce.

At this event, Bob is going to help you explore the techniques
of great poses.  Bob will handle all the lighting so he can
spend his time teaching you to select environmentally correct poses>

Bob will teach you to take advantage of the look of the model
and the surroundings you are in to always get a great shot..
 
For two hours, Robert will demonstrate different lighting techniques
He will present scenarios, help you visualize them and then
make lighting choices while explaining the reasons and
quantifying the effects.

Participants will get to shoot throughout the entire event
with Bob both lecturing and helping you with both
the technical and posing issues.

These classes are open to photographers at all levels.
