Lightning Workshop With Robert Elvin ...
SESSION ONE:  Understanding Lights and Modifiers
Wednesday, January 20th - Nor. Cal.
Instructional Workshop

This was be the first in a series of monthly workshops
taught by Robert Elvin on studio lighting
with an emphasis on Glamour and Fine Art.

Robert is a long time commercial photographer who has taught
lighting at local universities and art schools for years.
In recent years he has been a lighting consultant to the motion picture
industry and recently directed a pilot for television.  Robert is the
technical consultant for "Photographer's Lighting" in San Francisco.

You can read Robert's summary by CLICKING HERE.

This was be a three hour event with a live model.
For two hours, Robert demonstrated different lighting techniques
on each of two sets.   He showed the effects of various modifiers
and provided suggestions on the best way to approach different scenarios.

For each setup, photographers had the opportunity
to shoot the model using the techniques that were demonstrated.

For the third hour, the photographers were able to apply the
techniques to light the sets creatively with supervision and
spent the hour shooting with the model on the sets they just lit.

While this is a glamour shoot and there was a live model,
this was all about learning proper lighting, proper technique and
helping you explore your creativity.

This class will be taught monthly with different topics at each class.
The training will be cumulative, so while you can jump in at any time,
we will be building on the things we learned at the prior class.

These classes are open to photographers at all levels.
